The global logistics provider is repurposing an existing facility in central Hessen, bolstering the region’s position as a key logistics hub.

CEVA Logistics is establishing a new contract logistics site in Lich, located near Giessen in central Hessen, with plans to create up to 600 jobs. The company is taking over and upgrading an existing 90,000-square-meter logistics facility at the Logistikzentrum Langsdorfer Höhe, which had been vacant since early 2025. The center will offer services such as warehousing, transport, packaging, and quality control.

The project highlights the benefits of repurposing existing infrastructure in Hessen. While the site was previously used as a logistics center, CEVA is transforming it into a modern contract logistics facility that introduces a more efficient and sustainable operating model, creates jobs, and adds value to the region.

Initial operations began in March and will ramp up over the coming months. CEVA will operate two shifts per day, six days per week, with no night shifts.

The location in Lich offers direct access to central Germany and benefits from proximity to key infrastructure and a strong regional talent base. The nearby Central Hessen University of Applied Sciences offers programs in logistics management, providing continuous access to a pool of skilled logistics professionals.

As part of the CMA CGM Group, CEVA Logistics is a global leader in shipping and logistics, operating in more than 170 countries with around 160,000 employees across 1,500 sites. In Germany, the company runs 21 locations with approximately 4,500 employees and a total logistics space of around 540,000 square meters. Germany is considered a strategically important market within its global network.

With the repurposed site in Lich, CEVA is building on Hessen’s position as a leading logistics hub in Europe. The state’s well-developed infrastructure, dynamic market, skilled workforce, and central location continue to attract international companies seeking to establish or expand their European operations.
