Following the development of the Interkom area, which was realized in collaboration with Ebsdorfergrund and Staufenberg, the city of Marburg is now joining forces with the municipality of Lahntal to market the 8.3-hectare Spiegelshecke area, which is already fully developed and ready for immediate construction. Marburg has acquired the industrial site in Lahntal for this purpose and has entrusted the project to the Marburg Urban Development Corporation (SEG).

Marburg's mayor, Dr. Thomas Spies, emphasizes that the city will continue to prioritize sustainable development, regional cooperation, and securing the economic future. The Spiegelshecke industrial park has a clear goal: to attract low-emission companies from the fields of biotechnology, life sciences, and sustainability to the region, preferably even a single company that will take over the entire industrial park.

The partner municipality of Lahntal, led by Mayor Carsten Laukel, has also expressed satisfaction with the joint project: "Lahntal has found a suitable partner in Marburg in terms of marketing and project execution." According to calculations, the shared tasks in the cooperation will save more than a third of the usual project costs. The estimated project duration is five years, and it will also receive €50,000 in funding from the state of Hessen.
