Community management at Hessen Trade and Invest
Community management

The numbers speak for themselves: 14.8% of all foreign direct investments in Germany are made in Hessen. Hessen even managed to set a new record last year: 173 foreign companies established new locations in Hessen or developed their existing investments. We’re delighted to see such trust in Hessen’s economic strength, and these figures demonstrate that we’re on the right track. They also reflect the international identity of our region, where people of 190 different nationalities live and work together.
Hessen Trade and Invest gets involved with the region’s international networks and regularly organizes community events. Not only the US, Chinese and British communities offer dense networks; the Korean, Brazilian, French, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Turkish communities have established networks as well which not only pursue common economic interests but also promote their respective cultural identities. This year, we’ve continued to collaborate with consulates general and embassies to hold numerous events with various communities. Hessen’s Indian community, for example, was invited to Königstein Castle in late August to discuss topics like the ramifications of Brexit. The “Brexit China Community Event 2017” also dealt with Great Britain’s upcoming departure from the EU and the subsequent opportunities for Chinese companies in Hessen.
