Frankfurt is among Germany’s most forward-looking cities
As confirmed by research of the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (Hamburgisches WeltWirtschaftsInstitut - HWWI) and the Berenberg Private Bank, Frankfurt is one of the TOP 3 most forward-looking cities in Germany.
After Munich and Leipzig, Frankfurt is one of Germany’s most forward-looking cities. For the fifth time already, the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) and the Berenberg Private Bank have researched the 30 largest cities in Germany for their future sustainability.
Compared to 2016, the Main metropolis catches up and moves upward to 3rd place. Frankfurt improved its economic efficiency and demographic development. Thus, its population grew by 8.3%, the second highest. On the other hand, the city still leads in the location index since 2008 in the fields of internationality, accessibility as well as education and innovation with very positive location characteristics.
"We are very glad that the multiple advantages of the Frankfurt location are appreciated throughout Germany. We congratulate Frankfurt for this top placement – the good traffic infrastructure, the central location in Germany and Europe, and the lived internationality are decisive arguments for the entire Hessian business location," says Dr. Rainer Waldschmidt, managing director of Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH. Good future prospects also open up for Wiesbaden (7th place). According to the study, the Hessian capital offers balanced conditions for people and the economy in all fields and reveals no important weaknesses.
