Last quarter, the Energiewende (“energy transition implementation”) further advanced in Hessen, with new charging capacity for long-haul electric trucks and the opening of an advanced battery recycling facility. Alongside these developments, international companies continue to expand their presence in our federal state, a testament to Hessen's broad, cross-sector appeal.

Truck-charging venture Milence opened Hessen’s first charging park for long-haul electric trucks near Kassel, with support from the state’s energy agency, LEA Hessen. It includes the company’s first stationary storage system, enabling full-power charging despite limited grid capacity.
Darmstadt-based Focused Energy raised 240 million Dollar in what it describes as the largest Series A financing round in the fusion industry to date. The funding will support plans for the world’s first laser fusion plant at RWE’s former nuclear power station site in Biblis. The new plant will play a major role in securing Hessen’s base load capability.
Near Wiesbaden, one of Europe’s most advanced battery recycling facilities opened this quarter, developed by Austrian company Saubermacher and backed by funding from the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport, and Housing. The plant can recover up to 95% of the metals contained in used lithium-ion batteries.
In Frankfurt, Doosan Robotics opened an expanded European branch, adding full operational infrastructure for service, training, and application development, enabling the company to better serve customers and partners across Europe.
