As early as 2019, more than half of the electricity volume in Hessen was generated from renewable energy sources – representing a tenfold increase since 2000. But even this outstanding success is only another step on the way to the complete phase-out of fossil and nuclear sources by 2050.
The Energy Hessen Roadmap outlines the short- to medium-term framework for Hessen’s energy policies. The current focus is on expanding renewable energy sources, supporting a significant increase in energy efficiency and infrastructure and working on the overarching topics of sector coupling and digitization. Companies can also benefit from this: Innovative solutions and specific implementations are promoted and supported by the state government.
Wind and solar power together account for almost three-quarters of Hessen’s gross electricity generation from renewable energy sources. When it comes to solar power, rooftop systems are promoted in Hessen to generate electricity and heat for individual homeowners with a high value creation potential. Companies and residents can receive support from the free Hessen Solar Cadastre. As an investor, you can quickly determine whether a photovoltaic system on your company premises would be profitable – and perhaps soon generate climate-neutral electricity yourself. We will be happy to support you in any questions about sustainable energy for your company and can put you in touch with the right contacts and networks in Hessen.
